AIR TRAVEL TO ROME OR NAPLES
Fly into FCO Fiumicino—Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome. Because this is the major airport in Italy you will find the most variety of flight at the lowest prices and the most choice in car rentals or train connections. Travel by car or train from Rome to the Festival will average 5 to 6 hours.
Fly into NAP Naples International Airport. This is a smaller airport where you will find fewer connections and higher prices but you will enjoy a short two hour car or train ride to the Festival.
TRAIN TO SCALEA
Purchase your train ticket at Trenitalia: https://www.trenitalia.com. You can purchase from their mobile app or the website and store your ticket on your mobile phone. The conductor will scan the QR code on your ticket. The train stop closest to the festival is the beautiful seaside town of Scalea, Calabria. The faster trains will be slightly more expensive. Choosing first class will guarantee you an assigned seat and will also add to the cost. Travel time from Rome to Scalea depends on the express train or local train you select and travel times vary from 3.5 hours to 6 hours. And the price can range from 30€ to 100€ one way.
Travel time from Naples to Scalea ranges from 2.5 to 1.5 hours and the price will range from 15€ to 40€ one way depending on the class and train you select.

PARKING
Palazzo Campanga is located at the central and highest point of the village of Santa Domenia Talao. There is limited parking at the top level close to the festival. Arrive early for a close-in spot. You will most likely have to park at a lower tier so wear comfortable shoes because you may be walking a couple flights of steps or on stone roads that are at an incline. Parking is free. The festival will be held outside at the garden grounds across from the palazzo.

The festival will proceed rain or shine. Rain is rare during the height of the summer season in this region but check the weather and see if you may need a rain hat or slicker. The festival is being held at twilight hours but the sun is still very strong and if you are sensitive you may want to bring a sun hat or sun screen. Unfortunately mosquitos are common this time of year. We are prepping the garden in advance and have special repellant candles and plants in place but if you are sensitive you may want to bring mosquito repellent with you.

Temperatures in the mountain town are generally 6 degrees cooler than seaside temperatures but you still may want to confirm that your B&B has air conditioning.
